Govt. has initiated Post Brexit - Clean Growth Strategy. Clean growth is all about increasing our national income whilst cutting our greenhouse gas emissions. The Government acknowledge EPCs are already “a key tool in promoting energy performance improvements in buildings.
Climate Change Act 2008 Includes proposals to cut UK carbon dioxide emissions by 80% from 1990 level by 2050. Currently at 42% reduction Amended in 2019 to net zero by 2050 More energy efficient buildings – Cut bills, improve health and comfort, higher value and better quality places to work and live – Also to reduce the UK energy demand, improve economic resilience, reduce carbon emissions.
Through the extended scheme, tens of thousands more households on incomes of less than £30,000 will not have to make any financial contribution to energy efficiency improvements to their homes. including its aim to deploy 600,000 heat pumps a year by 2028, and to get as many homes as possible to Energy Performance Certificate Band C by 2035.
